Coach Alvaro is an experienced youth soccer coach dedicated to developing players who compete with confidence, discipline, and a strong understanding of the game.

He brings over nine years of coaching experience across both competitive club soccer and AYSO, with a focus on building technically sound, tactically aware, and team-oriented players. Throughout his coaching career, he has led and supported teams across Ventura County, consistently helping players grow in both performance and love for the game.

He currently serves as Head Coach for a Girls Under 17 team, where he leads player development, team structure, and competitive growth during a critical stage in the transition to full-sided soccer.

Coaching Philosophy

First and foremost, soccer is a game, having fun and enjoying practice and games makes a difference. With that being said, Coach Alvaro’s philosophy is to develop technically strong, tactically intelligent, confident, and creative players who understand the game and make decisions independently with basic principles.

    •     Defensive Third: Play simple, safe, and composed. Build from the back when possible, maintain possession, and avoid unnecessary risks.

    •     Middle Third: Be creative and intelligent. Encourage combination play, movement, breaking lines, and decision-making.

    •     Offensive Third: Be brave and unpredictable. Attack 1v1, create chances, take risks, and finish.

    •     Transitions: React quickly when we win or lose the ball and work together as a team.
